WHEN YOU USE THIS PULLER, I REMOVE THE AXLE NUT, PUT ALL FIVE WHEEL NUTS ON THE HUB LEAVING ABOUT 3/8" CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE PULLER AND THE HUB. NEXT HAND TIGHTEN THE CENTER BOLT OF THE PULLER AGAINST THE AXLE. NEXT YOU CAN USE A 1/2" DRIVE RATCHET WITH A 3/4" SOCKET AND TIGHTEN ALL THE WHEEL NUTS A LITTLE AT A TIME IN SEQUENCE
THIS EVEN PULLING EFFECT WILL LOOSEN THE DRUM QUITE EASILY

Rear Axle Rethreading Help
If you have damaged the threads on the end of the axle removing the hub, they can usually be straightened with the help of a tool.

If your axle looks like the one above, you need a tool like the one pictured below. It is shown in the closed position.

This shows the tool in the open position.

To use the tool, clamp it on the axle threads as far in as possible. Tighten the thumb screw by HAND, and unscrew the tool off of the axle end. You may have to do this four or five times before the threads are corrected enough to put the nut back on by hand.
